When an audio file is split into multiple parts, follow these guidelines for a seamless transcript:

Requirements

  • Add a timestamp at the start and end of each part
  • Include the part number in the filename and title (e.g., "XYZ Part 1 of 2")
  • If a part starts or ends mid-sentence, transcribe 5 seconds before and after the split to help with joining

File Naming

  • Use clear part numbering: "Part 1 of 2", "Part 2 of 2", etc.
  • Include the original file reference number
  • Keep naming consistent across all parts

Content Overlap

  • For mid-sentence splits, include 5 seconds before and after the split point
  • This overlap ensures a smooth transition when the transcript is joined
