Late-Start Audio
How to transcribe audio files with delayed starts or extended silences.
Late-Start Audio
If an audio file begins with 10 seconds or more of silence before the actual conversation starts, mark the beginning of the transcript with a timecode showing when the speech begins.
#
Formatting Requirements
- Add a timestamp at the start of the transcript if there is a 10+ second delay before speech
- Do the same at the end if there is a long silence after the conversation ends
- Place the timecode clearly at the start or end of the transcript as needed

When to Use
- Audio files with extended silence at the beginning or end
- Recordings where the interview or conversation starts well after the recording begins
- Any file where meaningful content does not start immediately
This helps clients quickly locate the start and end of important content in their transcripts.
